The material is 4130 Chromoly tubing. When a customer’s mount is received, it is thoroughly cleaned, inspected for defects, and defective tubing is replaced. The work is then inspected and issued an 8130-3 by a FAA-certified NDT facility. Afterwards, the mount is repainted with high grade aviation primer and paint in the customer’s choice of gray, black, or white.
